About The Fine Print
Most money and legal information online is either trying to sell you something
or written in language only a professional can parse. The Fine Print exists to fix that.
We take Australia’s financial and legal rules — the ones from ASIC, the ATO,
AFCA, and the legislation itself — and translate them into clear, practical explanations
anyone can follow. Every article is grounded in primary sources, linked so you can check
them yourself.
What we are: a plain-English guide to understanding your money and your rights in Australia. What we’re not: financial advisers or lawyers. We explain how the rules work in general; we don’t give advice about your personal situation. For that, we’ll always point you toward someone qualified.
If you’ve ever read a loan contract, a super statement, or a debt-collection
letter and thought “what does this actually mean for me” — that’s exactly what this site is
here to answer.
